Healing Yourself

Feel the importance of your life and decide if you are worthy of the effort it will take to become a vibrant and healthy person. It will take great effort and many changes. Mostly, it will take a change in how you feel about yourself and how you have lived your life to this point. Understanding who you are, where you have been and where you want to be in your life will be the reflections you will need to explore in order to even read further. What you have been valuing in your life, may have to change to make room for a new way of seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting and cherishing the moments that you have, called your life.

Start with your breath. Fill it up right now, hold it for a moment or two, and then release it thoroughly. The air that you just inhaled is the first and most important nutrition that you have. If you live in the country or by the ocean where the air is "relatively" clean, it probably feels really good to take that deep breath. If you live in a polluted city, with a very small percentage of oxygen in the air, you have just witnessed one of the causes of your diseases. So, for example, if you really want to heal yourself, you will have to consider a lifestyle that will be more conducive to your needs.

Food is fuel. Although, you can get some of the best and freshest organic food in the middle of New York City, there are still many trade-offs that you need to consider, such as the toxicity of living in a polluted place. It's quite an oxymoron, isn't it. I find that balance is most important here. Get out of Dodge to do the major work of detoxification. For many people it will be difficult to make those kinds of changes, however, it will depend on how much you want to live. What you do to the food is also an issue. You must learn about the highest levels of nutrition. There are educators in your own community who are teaching classes that will help you to make better choices in what you buy and how you prepare it. Keeping it fresh and alive (vegetables and fruits) is the goal. Drinking as much of the juices of these foods will support the processes needed to quickly cleanse and then rebuild your health. This is where juice fasting comes in. Learn more.

Water is not the same everywhere. Certainly, drinking tap water, unless it's hooked into a pristine spring, will never do. We are talking basics here and without good clean water that hasn't been sitting in plastic for any length of time, you cannot flush the body of debris. Make great effort to drink more water than you have ever ingested before.
Movement such as yoga, dance, walking, biking, strength training, swimming and other physical stimulation such as bodywork, massage and more help to balance and move these liquids and solids into the right places so that organs can regain their function and fix the problems. It's not about aging. It's about detoxification, so that the whole person....body, mind and spirit....can re-attune itself to a higher frequency and vibration.

The emotions are the biggest factor in all of healing. Each thought can either make us or break us. If you want to live fully, then you must not allow your mind to think otherwise. You must not expose yourself to toxic thoughts within yourself or anybody else. No matter that they might think that they know more than you, ultimately you are the healer and now you must learn how to manifest that supreme job that you have been given. You do not have the luxury of any negative thinking.....ever! When I was given the diagnosis of malignant cancer, I never told anyone whose mind would put fear on me, my mother included.

Complete rest is essential. The tension that is caused by exposure to unnatural electrical stimulation must be balanced with exposure to natural places and experiences. How well can you sleep after you have caught up with the nightly news to learn about another 80 people being killed in Iraq? I would recommend instead, to get into a warm bath with aromatherapy before bed, some meditation and/or reading inspirational material.

Surrounding yourself with positive and joyous friends will make all the difference in the world. If people find out that you are not well, sometimes, they cannot support you in the way you need. Perhaps some new friendships must be sought out at this point. You are changing and you will need to be around those whose perspective will be similar to yours.

Peace is the most important aspect of healing. It's not about luck, is it about effort being channeled in the direction of peace. You have a peace within you that you don't even consider. That peace will heal you more than anything that has been mentioned thus far. Find it, feel it and use it to benefit your life.
